Turkey with Brown Ale
and Prunes

Servings: 4 (remove four 250-g or ½-lb. portions from the breast)
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 4 to 5 hours
Level of difficulty: Easy

Turkey leftovers may be frozen.

Ingredients

5-kg “Cook from Frozen” Seasoned Exceldor Turkey
20 prunes, pitted
5 tbs. of sunflower oil
2 tbs. of liquid chicken concentrate (like Bovril)
2 red sweet peppers, diced
2 green peppers, diced
3 onions, diced
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
2 small bottles of dark ale of choice
2 oranges
5 tbs. of honey or maple syrup
1 cup of 15% cooking cream
2 tsp. of mild curry

1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

2. Cook the seasoned Exceldor turkey as indicated on the packaging.

3. One hour before end of cooking time, sprinkle curry on turkey; add vegetables, beer, orange juice, maple syrup, liquid concentrate and prunes. Once cooked, wrap the turkey in aluminum foil to keep it warm; set aside.

4. Pour cooking juices and vegetables in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the cream. Simmer to desired consistency.

5. Salt and pepper to taste and serve with turkey.
